Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Dentist with procedures
- Cleaning/sterilizing and preparing instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Taking digital X-Rays
- Managing the clinical inventory of the Practice, ensuring there are always the needed dental
supplies - Explaining dental treatments or procedures to patients.
- Making appointments, answering the telephone, maintaining, and filing documents in the
absence of the Receptionist.
Qualifications, Experience, and Key Competencies:
Certificate in Dental Surgery Assisting, Dental Assisting, Dental Nursing, or equivalent
accredited dental auxiliary qualification.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Dental Assistant. Experience in pediatric dentistry
or working with children would be an asset.
Experience assisting with dental procedures and digital X-rays
Knowledge of sterilization and infection control procedures
Computer literate
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Must enjoy working with children and families
Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
Any equivalent combination of training and experience
